This year’s whole month of July, National Disaster Resilience
Month will have its theme “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro Para sa Tunay na
Pagbabago.” July is known for rainy days, typhoons or calamities. So, it is
helpful that they implement this National Disaster Resilience Month.
Disaster is a sudden, calamitous event that seriously disrupts the functioning of a community or society. So, we have this National Disaster Resilience Month to let us know how to handle and decrease disasters or calamities. And to prevent us from danger that the disaster may cause us.
National Disaster Resilience Month always conduct a series of activities like Information Education Campaign to build awareness. Other activities are tree planting, canal de-clogging and more.
National Disaster Resilience Month is focused on personal knowledge and preparedness regarding dos and don’ts during calamity or disaster. We can achieve disaster resiliency if we start within ourselves.
The resilience and safety of the community can be achieved through the cooperation and readiness of the people to assist each other. Because in times of calamity, whether you are old or young, rich or poor, everybody will be affected.
