LESSONS LEARNED

Image result for photo about the lessons i learned

The lessons I learned through this quarter is on how to use Photoshop and its tools. I had a bit of trouble using the Photoshop because I'm not that good. Whenever there's something I do not know, I ask my classmates for help. I am so thankful that they are there to teach me and help me. We have unity. Moving on, I will bring what I learned to my senior high and I am thankful that I knew something about these lessons.

Follow Your Rainbow

Image result for my dream my future

Everyone has a dreams. Dream is something that all of us need to have. Dream is what you want to do for your future. Whether they want to become a scientist, a teacher, a pilot, an engineer, and more. I have dreams for my future just like everyone else. I want to become an accountant and a YouTube vlogger. I want to make my family feel proud of me.

At the time when I already have my job, I would like to help my parents. I would like them to feel comfortable and give them the best of life. I would like to travel outside the country with my family. This is one of the main reason why I like to achieve my dreams. No words can’t explain how much I love and appreciate them.

I will achieve my dreams not because of luxuries but the richness of love, compassion for people and passion for God. It is very important to have a big dream. It is not wrong. Even if you cannot achieve it, just make it as your vision. Dream can help you to prepare to face this challenging world.

For achieving these dreams, you have to work hard, stay attentive to it, have determination, and stay motivated. In fulfilling your dreams you need a lot of things and also have to sacrifice many things.

Kannawidan Festival 2020

Image result for kannawidan festival 2020

The Kannawidan Festival is an annual two-week-long celebration commemorating the founding of the province on February 2, 1818. The old Ilocos province was split into Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur by a Royal Decree ordered by the King of Spain. Now on its 13th year, the festival has become a yearly venue for the various towns of Ilocos Sur to showcase their products and their unique traditions.

On the opening day, there is usually a mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. It is followed by a procession of the Patron Saints, this is the Ilocanos' way of giving thanks to the almighty not only for the bountiful blessings but also for the rich heritage of the city. This event showcases the deep-rooted religiosity of the townsfolk.

There are different contests that focus to the ability and skills of the students. These include traditional tribal rituals, choir and glee club competition, marching band contests, street dancing showdown, and more.

The local government of Ilocos Sur thought of this festival to encourage the younger generation like us to learn the indigenous songs and dances of the province.

Be The Change You Want To See

Image result for change starts with me

Jim Rohn says “The only change that is really going to dramatically affect your life is you”. Simply put, if you want to change a thing, you want to change the world, you must change yourself first. But you must also understand that change is a process, not an event. It’s not that if you want to change a thing, you’ll just snap and then the change is already there. You need to hard work and be patient.

Just like if you have a problem, sometimes you just want to end it immediately but it’s not that easy. What makes a problem big is simply that it’s yours. We tend to think that we have the biggest problem in the universe. Everyone has problems. No one is perfect. So, we should change this thought, we should change ourselves in thinking this way. Instead, we need to think of a solution.

Maybe you wonder if you have the ability to change. The truth is, you have it. But to make it possible, you have to change yourself first. You have to change your mentality, your habits, and your actions. It’s not easy changing yourself, but it’s necessary if you want to make a massive impact.

You don’t need to change everything. You just need to improve and change what is closest to you. Many people believe that one can be able to change the world by making changes in the political and social structures of the world, but it’s not. Sometimes all it takes is trying to fix and improve what’s closest to you and affects you personally.

Change begins with improving who we are on the inside. We each have a unique identity and our own distinct thoughts. These thoughts often propel us to act. So, by mindfully centering our thoughts in a positive direction, we can improve our actions and thus our character.

Simply put, if you change nothing, nothing changes.

Vigan is unique for having preserved much of its Hispanic colonial character, particularly its grid street pattern and historic urban lay out. Its significance also lies on how the different architectural influences are blended to create a homogenous townscape. Vigan City has a festival, this is to show their unique products and traditions to all people.

The Vigan City Fiesta is celebrated yearly during January 25, in honor of St. Paul the Apostle. The metropolitan Cathedral Church, the Vigan's main church, is dedicated to St. Paul.  The Vigan City Fiesta usually lasts for several days.   At present, the festival gathers a lot of locals and tourists  who come to see the presentations they do for the show. Vigan Town Fiesta is composed of arts and crafts exhibit, carnivals, street dancing performances, and other vivacious performances that celebrate the spirit of Vigan’s cityhood.

Participants from different provinces in northern region are also sen to compete in the games and activities. This participation makes the Vigan City not only a local event but a national event participated by other local public heads and national officials.

HAPPY 2020

        Related image

Usually every New Year, there's always this thing what we called 'New Year's Resolution'. It is a promise that you make to yourself to start doing something good or stop doing something bad on the first day of the year. Many people this time of year will post on their social media 'New Year, New Me!'. Some of us believes it, but most of us don't. Because those promises, most of them will not be fulfilled. And that 'New Year, New Me' thing? It's impossible. Nobody sits there on January 1st and immediately they turn into a new version of themselves. I'm okay with new beginnings and having resolutions for the new year because its like the reset period, but we all know that these changes don't come like a snap, they take time, patience, and hardwork.

For me, New Year is not just the time we can change ourselves for the better. We can change ourselves to a better version everyday, every mornings we woke up, in short ANYTIME. So if you think that there is something to yourself that you need to change, there is something to your behavior that you need to change, start doing it now. Someday you'll realize that you became a better version of yourself.

Fight for Equality!

                         Related image

GAD stands for Gender and Development, which refers to the development perspective and process that is participatory and empowering, sustainable, free from violence, respectful of human rights, supportive of self-determination and actualization of human potentials. This aims to achieve gender equality. This GAD made us realized that women can also do what men can do and women can do something for development, not just a recipients of development. GAD is not just concerned with women, but with the way in which a society assigns roles and responsibilities to both men and women.

Men and women have their differences. We all have our differences. We should accept that. Don’t define us based on our differences. We should change our mindset and start accepting equality.

VAWC stands for Violence Against Women and Children. VAWC includes physical abuse, sexual abuse, mental abuse, threats, harrassments and more. Well, there’s still a lot in this world are abusing women and children. Abusing them has an impact especially to the children because they are just young. VAWC are made to protect and stop women and children from suffering violence. They don’t deserve what you are doing. Learn to love them. Learn to love their weaknesses.

Let’s try to put ourselves in their place, what do you think? It’s too much right? I can’t imagine how painful it is. So, why not make our world a better and safer place for both children and women?

Whatever their gender is, poor or rich, young or old, you should treat them equally.

A Season of Love and Laughter

30 Christmas Prayers and Blessings for Family and Loved Ones

We are now again celebrating Christmas, the birth of Christ the King. In this month of December, we must remember that our Lord came in this world and sacrifice himself in order to save us from our sins. Celebrating Christmas and reflecting on the lessons he gave us is just a simple way of saying thank you.

Christmas is all about giving and sharing, not just the material things but also those that can be felt and appreciate like love. Jesus taught us what a genuine and unconditional love is, so why don't we spread love and forgiveness to others? By doing this, there will be no ill feelings left and all will be happy.

We all have our way of celebrating Christmas like exchanging gifts, preparing a lot of foods, games, and more. Spending time with your family, relatives, and friends in this season is just perfect. It is also an opportunity to correct actions we aren't proud of in our lives.

As Christmas comes nearer, just remember that it's the thought that counts and that love is the most important thing in the world.

Save the Environment, Save the Nature

Related image

Every November is the environmental awareness month. This is to promote awareness and understand the brittleness of our environment. It also helps to let everyone know that we must protect the environment and create a brighter future.

It is our responsibility to respect and protect our environment. But what's happening right now is the reverse of it. Some people do illegal logging, burning plastics, destroying mountains and more, which causes us having some disasters. Everyone needs to be aware of the result of their actions.

In order to stop it, we should persuade everyone to start taking care of our environment. Let's start with planting trees, cleaning our surroundings, and throwing our trash into the trash can. We can't promote environmental awareness to others if we don't do it first in ourselves.

Today's Children, Tomorrow's Future

Image result for today's children are tomorrow's future

"Today's children are tomorrow's future." That's true, if we need to preserve our future, then it is our duty to build the future of the children in a right direction.

For this 2019, they celebrated children's month. The purpose of this is to make all the people aware of giving rights to children. It is their rights to have a happy family, to go to school and learn, to have a child-friendly environment, to get protection from all forms of abuse and violence, and more.

We shouldn't let them get hurt. We should take care of them like our own wealth. We shouldn't just leave a child behind without a parent. We shouldn't let them wander around. We shouldn't let them to have a job in such a young age. Instead, we must give what they really need and deserve, which is love, care, and protection.

Keep Your Values Positive

For this month of November, we are celebrating the values month. The theme for 2019 is "Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin: Susi sa kabataang Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa. As we heard the word "values", the first thing that comes to our mind is principles or standars of behavior. So from this, we already know what the values month celebration is.

This values month celebration is to showcase the moral and positive, genuine values of Filipino people. These values starts within the family, then the teachers, friends, community, and so on. We, Filipinos, are known for being hospitable, kind, generous, and helpful. So as a Filipino, I'm proud of it!

They held an activities which promotes values and is connected to the theme. Fortunately, the students are active in joining the activities, it's either individual or a group. The purpose of this celebration is for the students to develop/acknowledge the different values of a Filipino.

I hope that this good values will remain in us forever. Because with these values guiding us, we are able to cope with the changes of life.

A Nation That Is Divided, Need Love To Be United

thumb image

We just celebrated the United Nations Day on October 24th. We all know that the United Nation consists of countries who promotes world peace, human rights, and social progress. It develops cooperation among the nations of the world.

The United Nation Celebration has a theme "Indigenous Language Matter for Sustainable Development, Peace Building and Recognition." In our school, we celebrated the United Nations Day by having the students to dress up in their national costumes. There is also a pageant and spoken word poetry. These activities wants to showcase what United Nation really is and what different countries are included.

This United Nations Celebration reminds us how they are trying to maintain peace among the nations. The wars stopped because of them. The different countries work together as one beacuse they have one goal.

Instead of doing bad things that can ruin the peace of the world, why don't we help them to maintain the peace?

2nd Grading Reflection

Related image

In this 2nd grading, I learned how to work using an HTML(Hypertext Mark-up Language). In HTML, you need to use tags. There are 2 kinds of tags. First is the stand alone tag. Just like in life, you don't need others to help you to work better always, sometimes you just need to be independent in order for you to work better. The second kind of tag is the container tag. The container tag has a start tag and end tag. Just like in life, if you started to become happy don't expect too much that it will last long, because there's an end of it (just kidding). Well, I didn't encountered problems/challenges because I understand the lessons. Moving on, I hope that the lessons in 3rd grading is also easy to understand.

Thank You Teachers

teachers day, teachers day 2019, happy teachers day, teachers day 2019, teachers day date, indian express

Teacher's Day is a special day to our teachers. This is the day where us, students, can have an opportunity to appreciate them and thank them by giving them letters and a present.

Teachers are so hardworking. I know that they are trying their best just to be the best teacher. Even though they have problems, they are still trying their best to smile in front of us and teach us. I know that most of the teachers are already have their own families to prioritize but they're still trying their best to give us time. Teachers plays the role for being our second parent. If they notice that their student have a problem, they won't hesitate to ask and comfort him/her. They really treat us just like their own child.

Every teacher's day, there is a lot of balloon and flower vendors outside the school. Students will surprise their teachers. Our school has also evens for teachers just like the concert in our gymnasium. That event was fun. Our teachers will also have time to relax, have fun and enjoy.

Teachers is indeed our hero. Teachers can, and do, change lives. Teachers can change us into the better version of our self. THANK YOU TEACHERS!

Intramural is a day to be fun and active. Intramural can be the opportunity to show our talents in terms of sports. This will let us improve our sportsmanship and camaraderie, especially the athletes. There's a lot of games and competitions held within our school in which we can learn how to value the essence of winning and losing.

Volleyball, basketball, badminton, and sepak takraw are some of the sports held within our school. There are some of students who are shouting to support their friend or favorite team. There are also booths. Every club has their booth like marriage booth, chemlock, movie booth, loveinrinth and more. All students are allowed to experience the booths in just a very affordable price.

You know what I like in Intramural? This event allows us to be free from acads and have fun. Intramural is the time we can be physically active.

Intramural is fun and exciting. Such events have many advantages and opens many possibilities for students to be active, fun, and happy.

Science for the People: Enabling Technologies for Sustainable Development

Scicomm graphic

The science month is celebrated every September. The science club created an activities, contests, and exhibit that is all about science. Their activities are: Ginoo and Bb. Kalikasan, Himig Kalikasan, Battle of Bottles, Sci trix, Sci fight, and more. This science month encourages us to widen our knowledge about the things that are connected to science, the things that have science. All the things that we see or use has a science in it. Just like the electricity, rocks, plants, and so on.

Their theme "Science for the People: Enabling Technologies for Sustainable Development" promotes awareness on the technologies that can help us to sustain development. Just like what Edward Teller said, "The science of today is the Technology of tomorrow." It means that the benefit of technology is that it helps people to do what they want to do. It helps the people to be creative and productive. It let the people to learn things they didn't think they could learn before. And if we think about the future, we all want a better future.

SCHOOL IS COOL

School children collage

The Happy Schools Movement encourages students that school can be a happy place. That school is an enjoyable place to study. Happy Schools Movement wants to inform us that school is where students can freely express themselves and promote learning in an easy yet effective way. It helps the students to have fun while studying, to not get bored. It helps to catch the students' interest in studying.

Happy Schools Movement held at Vigan Convention Center. It has stations: for Math, Science, MAPEH, ESP, Filipino, AP, English, Mother Tongue, and more. In each station, you can get some informations in a happy way. And that's what I like in Happy Schools Movement, it allow us to have fun and enjoy. They didn't made us feel the pressure and difficulty in learning.

School is not just for learning, it is also for fun and enjoyment. It is a must to take care the students physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. If the school have a happy and friendly atmosphere, all the students will be excited every time they come to school. Always remember that School is Cool!

Wikang Katutubo: Tungo sa Isang Bansang Filipino

Image result for buwan ng wika
